Hillside House

The Client requested two separate dwellings organized around a shared outdoor living space to be located on a sloped property with hot summer conditions. Implementing a modern version of the traditional “dogtrot” style of house oriented to capture prevailing breezes, the project collects the two dwellings into one volume under a single planted green roof. To minimize the new building’s impact on the surrounding landscape, the building is nestled into the hillside for minimal visual presence from the uphill side.
